Oregon Pics

I love Oregon.  The place is an absolute paradise to me.  Where I live in the Willamette Valley, I can drive 1 hour West and be at the ocean, or drive 2 hours East and be at a ski resort.  What other place offers that?

The rivers of Oregon are what I really enjoy.  Oregon has all sorts of rivers.  From the Columbia (2nd largest in America) to small coastal streams, Oregons rivers come in all shapes and sizes.  My favorite is the Siletz, a 60 mile long, medium-sized Coastal river.  It is where I grew up fishing as a boy, and it I just love the place.  It is where I do just about all of my steelhead fishing, and a bunch of Chinook fishing in the fall.  I fish the Alsea, Nestucca and Salmon a lot too for Chinook.  We fish the Columbia a good bit in the spring and summer for Chinook.  The Willamette is where I do most of my bass fishing, and we pull some spring chinook from her and the Santiam River as well.  I live about ¼ mile from the Willamette.

The best bassin’ in Oregon is on the Columbia River for smallies.  The Cascade Locks area is the best.  Tenmile Lakes offers the best largemouth fishing in the state.  My favorite place to bass fish in Oregon is on the Willamette.  I can fish for days out of my jet boat and never see another angler.

One of my favorite things to do when I am home is to take people out and show them a good time on one of Oregons rivers.  I like to show the place off…it rocks!
